LOSS AND GRIEF IN THE TIME OF COVID

I haven’t blogged in several months. Because…you know…Covid.

We are ALL experiencing grief. We’ve either lost someone to Covid, or we know someone who has lost someone to Covid. Or our lives have been turned inside out because of Covid and we can’t even remember the “before times.”

I hope YOU are managing. These are challenging times. Every generation probably feels as though they are TRULY going through it the way no previous generation ever has. But seriously…Covid, global warming, so many social/racial injustices crying out for resolution, and a very real threat to the future of democracy. All at once. I think we’ve got all previous generations beat for Worst Era Ever (except perhaps the Dark Ages and the Bubonic Plague)!

At least there are finally some grownups in positions of power and leadership who are taking bold and necessary steps. I believe this will make a huge difference. But it won’t happen overnight. Patience will be required of all of us. Patience. Compassion. Forgiveness. And hanging onto hope.

In the meantime, there’s ZOOM! Thank goodness for Zoom and the many ways it has allowed us to stay connected.

On January 27, 2021 I gave a talk about loss and grief to a small Zoom audience. I include the unedited recording below. Maybe there’s something in it that speaks to you and helps.

I am seeing clients ON Zoom, so if you or anyone you know is in need of a Grief Counselor, please consider reaching out. Go to the Grief Counseling tab above for more information.

I am also resuming my Writing Circles – on Zoom – in February. Perhaps you’d like to join us! Go to the Writing Circles tab above if you want to know more.

  1. Celenia, not sure how I stumbled on your page and video, but so grateful I did. Watched every second and it touched me. Not sure what I was grieving… maybe a few things, but I feel warm all over……soothing…..is the only way I can put it. Thank you for sharing this very personal video. Meant a lot to me. 🙏🏻😘
